Premise
The premise behind the Art Cards project is that any artist who wants to contribute creates a card, or cards, following certain guidelines, then after a certain number of cards have been contributed to the project, they are each given a unique number that identifies them within their series, and distributed randomly to public places for members of the public to find, and the process begins again. The ultimate goal is to distribute pieces of unique art to random strangers.
History
I first came up with the idea of the Art Cards project sometime during 2008, and decided soon after that it'd be necessary to have a website both to explain the concept to those who find the cards & potential artists, and to allow feedback/comments on the cards by those who found them; so work on this website began.
